Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (Children’s Gynaecology) is a rapidly developing field which encompasses problems of the genital organs (ovaries, womb, vagina, vulva), of children and teenagers. These problems may arise at birth (congenital) or may occur later. The most common problem seen by Children’s Gynaecologists are those related to periods (pain, excessive bleeding, no periods), but other common problems also include cysts on the ovaries, bleeding before puberty, soreness of the vulva, or vaginal discharge.

Our Children’s gynaecologist is specially trained to deal with these conditions in children as the causes and treatments often differ from similar symptoms in adults. She is also a fully trained adult gynaecologist.
